A-Darter is a fifth generation short range air-air missile jointly developed by South Africa and Brazil with superior detection capability.
Opto Space & Defense co-developed and manufactures among other subsystems the Infrared Sensor Assembly. With its advanced mechanics, high sensitivity optics and miniaturized electronics, it is integrated into a 3 axis gimbal system. Responsible to capture distant target’s heat in two spectral ranges, it supplies advanced data to characterize the targets.
